  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lime zest

Notes

Cooking Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the cake batter: In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, eggs, lime juice, and lime zest. Beat until smooth.
  3. Bake: Pour batter into the dish and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool slightly.
  4. Prepare the margarita syrup: Whisk together sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, and tequila.
  5. Poke holes in the cake: Using a fork or skewer, poke holes all over the cake, then slowly pour the syrup over it. Let it soak for 20 minutes.
  6. Make whipped topping: Beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  7. Decorate: Spread whipped cream over the cake, sprinkle lime zest, and garnish with lime slices.
  8. Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
